It all begins with an idea — or maybe several..
From the very start, I’ve always been a big fan of community and celebration.
If I had to trace it back, it probably began in Grade 4, when I self-appointed myself as the class organizer. Much like Fight Club, my motto was: if the teachers didn’t know what was happening, how could they stop it?**
And from that idea, Festival Week was born — an underground series of recess gatherings filled with wild theme days like Crazy Hair Day, Crazy Sock Day, and Crazy Snack Day. One way or another, we were getting craaaazy at least once a week, and none of the teachers could stop us.
Late nights spent on Microsoft Paint had me living out my first dreams of being a graphic designer. I secretly used the printer (black and white only, of course — colour ink was sacred and reserved for birthday invitations). I made a calendar of events and circulated it to every Grade 4 in the school. That Monday, when half the class showed up with pink mohawks, the teachers were baffled.
That, to me, was true community building.
Fast forward a few years (okay, maybe more than a few), and not much has changed — I still find myself drawn to creative projects rooted in play, community, and connection.
"About Me" paragraphs are always a little strange — we’re expected to sell ourselves, to sound impressive, to stand out in the sea of job seekers. But this one’s different. This About Me is actually about me. I'm not here to sell you my experience or expertise (that’s what the resume’s for — don’t worry, I’m still trying to be marketable) This is where I get to honour the journey — a wonderfully nonlinear, joyfully chaotic web of interests, chances, and self-expression — that brought me here.
And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
So please, take a look around this website — everything here was created and cared for by a very real human being: me. I invite you to see the person behind the work, as I continue to lead with heart, purpose, and people at the centre.
**Confession: I’ve never actually seen Fight Club, but I do know the first rule is not to talk about it — so I ran with that energy and hoped for the best. If the reference didn’t land… please email me before I embarrass myself any further. I’m counting on you.
