The Toronto Public Library Passport Project
Inspired by library lovers who cherish public libraries, a group of neighbours came together to re-imagine the TPL Passport initiative.
Pick a branch. Do a tiny challenge. Share what you discover. Collect all the stamps.
This passport belongs to all of us, a growing portrait of book lovers, newcomers, kids, families, elders, teens, and everyday readers who make our city feel like home.
For those who don’t know, TPL has an unofficial passport that can be stamped at different branches across the city. We wanted to refresh the branch stamps so they better reflect the spirit, history, and uniqueness of each location and that’s how this project was born.
A small team of youth and community members researched, interviewed, and created these stamp concepts, while also heading out into the neighbourhoods to discover new ways to love the library. TPL’s goal is to help more people know, use, and support their local branches, so we hope this project inspires you to visit yours and keep the love going.
A few dedicated explorers have already collected all 100 branch stamps, will you be next?
If you are, please share your experience so we can encourage one another and celebrate our libraries together.
