What I love most

"Me and Toronto Public Libraries go hand in hand! Ever since I moved here from Kingston, Jamaica, I have saved so much money by using the library. Books are expensive and I’m such a fast reader [listener: Must be nice, ha!]! Not trying to brag, but whether fast or slow, TPL helps us get through new releases. If I’m quick enough, I even like to place holds on books months in advance for some of my favorite thriller and mystery authors.

What I love most about my library is saving money through this resource and meeting my favorite authors at their programs. This past summer, they had a huge romance event that lasted a couple of days in August! I got to meet Alex Aster and even got a copy of Ashley Poston’s book signed while wearing my favorite pink hearted cardigan. That event made me so happy because I made so many friends in the Toronto community. As a newcomer, I often feel left out, but attending these TPL events gives me a sense of belonging to the thing I love most these days: BOOKS!"
